I can't believe my last blog post was back in August! But so much has been happening... and to be honest, I've been jumping from one thing to another like I've got ants in my pants (recent conversation with sister-in-law about things our parents used to say). I've been working on some new French and Spanish games and playing around with an idea for a French children's story but have also (finally!) sorted out the French growth mindset postcards with the friend I made during the festival. Since new year's resolutions are all about growth mindset, this is the focus for my first blog post of 2018.
Last summer, I shared these growth mindset postcards (and where you could get them online) that I stumbled across at a craft market. Getting rather excited, as I so often do about stationery, I spent quite a while chatting to the girl selling them and she said she'd make some up in French too if I could do the language bit for her. Fab!
Okay, so it took me a little while to get into gear but they are finally here and I am so excited to put them to good use. They could be feedback cards, rewards, prizes... students could try to collect all four in the set... the first years could add hair and eye colour or clothing and then write about them... the seniors could write about what they would have to do one day to earn a specific card... yes, I'm very excited!
Both the French and English cards are available on Etsy in individual packs (four cards - £2), small class sets (20 cards - £8) and large class sets (32 cards - £10). Packing and postage is a little bit more but nothing extortionate.
So, that's me ticking the first thing off my 2018 to do list. I've got two of my French growth mindset cards tacked to the wall in front of me keeping me on track so here's hoping the rest of the year is as productive!
